The graduate in Electronic Engineering from Feevale University, Lucas Gazola Mugnol, will be the first student of the Institution to take a master's degree course in Engineering - Mechatronics: profile in Cyber Physical Systems at Southern Denmark University (SDU), Denmark. Through the international partnership between the two universities, Mugnol received a full scholarship and will begin his master's degree course in September, studying in the Danish university until 2020

Graduated since 2017, Mugnol has always been interested in doing a postgrad degree abroad that could increase his professional, academic and cultural experience. The student will go to Denmark with a full scholarship granted by the Danish government through the SDU. “ It was exactly what I was looking for, a full scholarship in one of the best countries in the world and that has a great demand for professionals in my area”, he said.

The student’s expectations are focused on Nordic education and on market opportunities. "I'm pretty excited about all the possibilities that can come up in this two-year period that I'll study there. I'm also very curious to see the labs they have, once the Sonderborg campus is basically focused on electronics," Mugnol said. In the semester before the last, the student may take subjects at an SDU partner institution in a neighboring country or begin an internship at a company agreed with the university.

This year, in February, Feevale received Roana Hansen and Jesper Hansen, SDU professors. The representatives visited Feevale to clarify Mugnol’s questions, to strengthen the agreement and discuss the possibilities of joint actions, such as the exchange programs for professors, researchers, students, information and academic publications; implementation of joint research projects; and promotion of scientific and cultural events.

The university has about 32,000 students and campuses in six cities. The pillars of the university are education, research, internationalization and engagement with society. The university stands out for multiculturalism, offering 73 courses in English, partnership with 490 institutions, besides having an international staff of professors and employees that reach an amount of 20% of its total.
