On March 20th, Feevale University held a ceremony aiming to introduce to the community the state-of-the-art Paulo Sérgio Gusmão library new building. The event happened in the hall of the building, located at the institution campus II. Authorities such as Inajara Vargas Ramos, the rector of the University, members of Associação Pró-Ensino Superior em Novo Hamburgo (Aspeur), the University sponsor, together with other institution’s authorities as well as relatives of Paulo Sergio Gusmão (1924-1997), founder of a local newspaper named Jornal NH and the library patron, attended the ceremony. The building expansion, in which an approximately R$10 million investment was made will increase about 80% the facilities. 

‘The area was expanded in 3,300 m ², and the spaces were redesigned according to global trends and academics’ suggestions. Thus, the library becomes more than just a collection storage or a traditional space to study, to turn now into a multipurpose space, a pleasant living area, and an interactive learning environment, said the President of Aspeur, Luiz Ricardo Bohrer. ‘Feevale University is an institution which invests its resources for community, both academic as external community. Presently, the library is a space that respects the different learning styles, allowing access to knowledge in a way that suits each person’s learning profile’, asserted the rectory, Inajara. Sited in the central part of the campus II, the library accounts with key technological support of information and communication as well as distinctive study rooms, featuring a privileged view of the city.
