The Cuboflex, work was developed by students of Architecture and Urbanism of Feevale University, Vinícius Machado de Araújo e Cátia Alessandra Flesch, guided by professor Luciana Néri Martins, was selected among the top four projects in the X International Contest de Diseño Sustentable Vivienda Digna. The multiuse object was thought from the idea to build some furniture directly connected to the individual’s lives, relating food, socialization and work. The award takes place on November 7th, at Central Society of Architects of Buenos Aires. Araújo represented the group at the awards, which happened last Tuesday, November 7th, at the Central Society of Architects of Buenos Aires. In the occasion, the student received a certificate.

Promoted by the non-governmental organization (NGO) Vivienda Digna, the contest aimed to create a sustainable furniture, which could be built through reusing disposed materials. According to the proposal of the NGO, under a social demand for housing, the furniture should be developed with originality, usefulness and constructiveness with a maximum of 90% recycled materials. The Cuboflex can serve as public and private furnishings and has the possibility to be used as a bench, sofa, bed, shelves, coffee table and corner table, among others, according to the will or the need of the user. The research was originated from the pursuit of information, which is the goal of the contest, and the NGO.

‘It was such an honor, an amazing opportunity to get to know Buenos Aires and even represent our course and Brazil in an international contest. It is something that makes us immensely happy and gives us the strength and motivation to have more of it. Is an intangible award that there is not any value to be compared or replaced’, commented Vinícius. The Cuboflex project will integrate the printed catalog of the contest.
